Important Guidelines
- Rest on the first day: After arriving in Leh, it is strongly recommended to rest at your hotel and avoid any strenuous activity for at least 24 hours.
- Allow your body to adjust: The body needs time to adapt to the reduced oxygen levels at high altitude. Proper acclimatization helps prevent Altitude Mountain Sickness (AMS).
- Stay hydrated: Drink 2–3 liters of water daily to help your body adjust to the altitude.
- Avoid alcohol and smoking: These can worsen the effects of high altitude and should be avoided during the first couple of days.
- Eat light meals: Light and easily digestible food is recommended on the first day.
- Consult a doctor: Travelers may consider carrying Diamox (Acetazolamide) to help prevent altitude sickness, but it should only be taken after consulting a medical professional.

Some travelers may experience symptoms such as headache, dizziness, nausea, fatigue, or shortness of breath. If these symptoms occur, it is important to rest, stay hydrated, and seek medical attention if necessary.
Proper acclimatization ensures that you can safely enjoy the breathtaking landscapes and high mountain passes of Ladakh during your journey.
